Some nights this place is busting at the seams, and others it appears to be a hidden treasure. The food is dependable and delicious, not pricey, has a great bar and is one of the favorites of most locals I know. Also has a cozy, ski country atmosphere.

The best huevos rancheros I've ever had.

I'll start by saying that this dinner was the best we've had in Snowmass, in our annual visits for about six years! I had lobster mac&cheese, and my husband had seafood bouillabaise, and they both were so delicious we couldn't keep our forks from each other's plates! The servings are large- we shared a calamari appetizer that was more than sufficient, and had a tasty mustard-based sauce which was a pleasant diversion from the usual marinara or aioli. We shared a spinach salad which featured green apple, bacon, and just a touch of bleu cheese (fine with me, as I am not a bleu fan). We had to try a dessert, although we really were more than full, and the chef's lemon meringue tart, with pistachio crust was phenomenal! It floated-both literally, in a pool of bitter-sweet blood orange sauce, and figuratively, as the toasty meringue melted in our mouths. The prices were reasonable, consistent with what we generally pay for a good dinner in Snowmass-and therefore an excellent value. We plan to head back there tomorrow, to try some of the other menu options- there's a ravioli dish I'm dreaming about!

Had the wild mushroom panini for lunch... for the 5th time, I'm hooked. One of the few places I've been to that serve a full menu and know how to work an espresso machine! Get off the bus (RFTA) and there you are.

When I go to the mountains, I want hearty food and that usually means pasta. And Il Poggio fulfills that urge with class. Tucked away on the top part of the Snowmass Mall, I was worried that this place (like a lot of places in a resort) would be pretentious, expensive, and have bad service. But it was reasonable and the service and food were fantastic. The gamberi (jumbo shrimp with grapfruit and arugala) and gnocchi with veal tenderloin were fantastic. It's worth making a reservation on the weekend but even without one, there's plenty of room at the bar for a drink while you wait for a table. This place is definitely worth checking out if you're ever out here.

Pretzels with dipping sauces like mustard & cheese fondue. Ok so how about those beers! Great service and good fun with ski movies of the Warren Miller kind playing on the wall or a fabulous musician playing the music that brings it all together after an excellent day of skiing.

The food is always great. They have a good buffalo chicken pizza and the salads are always great. The service can be slow, especially when busy, but the Wait staff is always friendly unless you are obnoxious to them. They have some of the lowest beer prices on Snowmass. They also deliver. This is a good respite from all the high end high price places in the area.

My boyfriend and I tried Venga Venga Mexican restaurant in Snowmass Village for the first time this winter. We live in Aspen and this convenience in turn sometimes makes it inconvenient to visit Snowmass Village. However, there are so many good new Snowmass restaurants emerging that we may need to make Snowmass, Colorado more of a dining priority. We tried Venga Venga during the inaugural Snowmass Village restaurant week. The special offered at Venga Venga was lunch for 2 at $20.11. (year 2011) What a great deal! It included 3 courses. Whenever these deals come back, I'd highly suggest taking advantage of them. (Rumor has it that Snowmass restaurant week may even return this summer.) Starting with drinks, a traditional mojito for me and a spicy orange margarita for him. Next came the table prepared fresh guacamole. Since I love fresh guacamole, it made a great start to the meal. The first course was either soup or salad. We had one of each. We had the Baja fish tacos and the cheese enchiladas. Both of them were delicious. For dessert we had chocolate churros. The only disappointment with the the entire meal was the chocolate churros. It took more than 30 minutes for them to arrive cold and hard. Everything else was so good that it almost didn't matter that dessert wasn't the best. I think Venga Venga is a good addition to Snowmass Village which is easily noticed as it is bursting with not only tourists but Snowmass locals alike. After a good day of spring skiing in Snowmass, I will definitely try Venga Venga again and give their desserts another chance.
